Who We Are

Look, we're not gonna pretend we've been around since the 1800s or that we've got some fancy marble lobby. What we do have is a team that actually gives a damn about your business.

Started because we saw too many companies getting cookie-cutter advice from firms that didn't take the time to understand their needs. We built Lumarethys differently - yeah, we know corporate law inside and out, but we also understand that you've got real stakes on the line. Your business isn't just another file number to us.

Based right here in Toronto's financial district, we work with everyone from startups figuring out their first shareholder agreement to established companies navigating complex M&A deals. The common thread? They all want lawyers who'll shoot straight with them.

How We Got Here

2018 - The Beginning

Three lawyers, one shared frustration with how corporate law was being practiced. We left our big firm positions to start something better - a practice that'd actually listen to clients instead of just billing hours. Started with a small office and big ambitions.

2019 - First Major Win

Represented a mid-size tech company in a messy shareholder dispute that could've destroyed them. We didn't just win - we restructured their entire governance framework. Word spread fast after that one.

2021 - Growing the Team

Moved to Bay Street and doubled our team. Brought on specialists in IP and employment law because our clients kept asking for help in those areas. Figured we should have experts in-house rather than referring out.

2023 - National Recognition

Canadian Lawyer Magazine named us one of the country's fastest-growing corporate law practices. Cool recognition, sure, but what mattered more was that we'd helped over 200 businesses by then without losing our personal touch.

2025 - Today

We're now a full-service corporate law firm with 18 lawyers and support staff. Still in the same Bay Street location, still answering client calls ourselves, still doing things our way. The difference? Now we've got the experience and resources to handle pretty much anything that comes through the door.
